Abstract

The objective of this study was to identify divergences in the sustainability assessment by coffee players. To achieve the objectives, a case study was conducted in a family farming cooperative, in which the main stakeholders, their actions and the context in which the cooperative is inserted were identified. From then on, data were collected through the application of an online survey (e-survey) to the following audiences: senior management, consisting of the board of directors, the board of directors, the superintendency and executives responsible for strategic planning; members, represented by the advisory board; and multinational companies that have commercial and institutional relations with the cooperative. The questionnaire was based on the five main dimensions of sustainability established by Ignacy Sachs, considered a precursor to sustainable development: economic, social, ecological / environmental, spatial / geographical and cultural. The following chapter gives a description of the data obtained in the study. A statistical analysis is performed, and by comparing the results of each group, it was possible to identify points of convergence and divergence regarding the evaluations. There were disagreements between Advisory Board Members and Companies in the economic and geographical dimensions; and Senior Management of the Cooperative and Companies in the social and ecological dimensions.
