HANS JONAS'S IMPERATIVE OF RESPONSIBILITY: CURRENT DISCUSSIONS ON SUSTAINABILITY
Abstract
This research aimed to reflect on historical and current socioenvironmental interactions. To this end, we used theoretical reviews emphasizing “the principle of responsibility”, promoted by theorist Hans Jonas, an important philosopher who lived during the period of World War II and the Jewish Holocaust; These events motivated his research and decisively influenced the construction of the “principle of responsibility”, which determined important interactions with the concepts of sustainability and sustainable development. No study provides an overview of environmental problems, where a dichotomy is detected in the histories and current forms of behavior of human nature, or new new motivations about man's ethical commitment to the environment. To this end, a review of “the principle of responsibility” by philosopher Hans Jonas prompted important considerations about this research. Thus, it is emphasized the relevance of the theme, facing the configurations of the contemporary world. Therefore, environmental responsibility must be reflected in different sociocultural sectors, in order to be valued and used in practices, seeking to foster educational techniques capable of legitimizing new interactions, and there may be a research or advancement in research and progress in knowledge in this field, facing the current social and environmental demands.
