The mediation of information in scientific dissemination

critical approach in the context of digital technologies

Abstract

Based on the massive production of qualified information and technological search devices, it is observed that the knowledge framework still circulates mostly among peers and is often not disseminated to the population. It is important that this process be thought of taking into account the general and specific material conditions, and, in this sense, it is achieved that the understanding of the information mediation process in Science, Technology and Innovation (ST&I) in the scope of Information Science becomes makes it fundamental. Therefore, this article presents a theoretical-discursive reflection on scientific dissemination as a process of mediation of information in ST&I, in the context of digital technologies. To do so, it takes as a reference a bibliographic survey in the field of interrelationships between Information Science and Communication. It presents some elements that make up scientific dissemination as a strategy for mediating information in ST&I, in the dynamic relationship with the processes, technologies and informational subjects involved. The need to establish a scientific, technological and innovative education is considered, which seeks to establish solid roots in broader social and cultural contexts.
