Abstract

This work aims at introducing the Laboratório de Competência em Informação e Prática Informacional to the discursive community of library and information science professionals, through the perspective of collaborative and participative cultural dynamics, based on the interaction among subjects in the processes of knowledge construction. Hence, the text is presented in a format that allows knowledge production references to dialogue with experience accounts through a collaborative point-of-view. At the now presented network, different understandings of the key concepts in this field circulate. Nonetheless, possible disagreements are elements that compose the dialogical arena that the network encompasses in its actions and reflections. Thus, it is not about a group that privileges or ignores divergences, but one that incorporates them in the construction processes of dialogical knowledge, developing its researches and practices in a way that preserves diversities. This way, it seeks to contribute to the strengthening of information literacy actions on both national and international levels so as to map, promote and divulge researches and actions related to information literacy; it systematically compiles teaching, research and extension  information literacy activities and projects developed by the participating institutes and organizations; establishes partnerships and interactions with other networks, institutes and organizations in the field; sets up a communication channel for the network; and supports the actions of the working groups created within the network’s scope. It presents the activities of the network in scientific production, the participation in research groups, research projects and extension. It concludes that the network-like construction of knowledge production can be a dialogical space for proficuous learning.
