STRUCTURAL, MANAGERIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS OF THE MUNICIPAL NATURAL PARK OF TIMBAÚBAS

Abstract

Timbaúbas Municipal Natural Park is classified as a Conservation and Integral Protection Unit aimed at contemplative visitation and indirect use of its natural resources, of significant ecological value. In this way, a socially and environmentally committed management in Conservation Units should influence the conservation, preservation of its biodiversity and environmental decision-making. In this sense, the objective was to examine the management of the Parque Natural Municipal das Timbaúbas, based on an analysis of its physical structure, organizational management and its environmental context. Considering the importance of preservation, conservation of the environment aligned with environmental education practices and the active participation of the community in this territory, this analysis becomes necessary. This is a case study supported by exploratory qualitative research. It is important to point out that technical visits were made to the Timbaúbas Municipal Natural Park and educational actions were carried out. It is possible to verify some limitations in the operation and conservation of Parque das Timbaúbas. The Integral Conservation and Protection Unit provides quality of life for the population, in view of providing a close relationship with nature, and sheltering species of fauna and flora. From the socio-educational perspective, Parque das Timbaúbas is configured as a non-formal education space, since it provides local entertainment, allows the development of environmental educational practices and represents a propitious space for socio-environmental actions, regarding the preservation and conservation of the space urban green. Under the sociopolitical prism it is classified as a green environment in the urban environment, however, despite being endowed with great natural beauties, it faces difficulties that permeate several sectors in the structural and environmental scope.
