Abstract

The sheep farming is related to the productive links of inputs, production, processing and industry, distribution and retail, being an agribusiness area that presents unfavorable and limiting factors for the competitiveness of the sector. The present study was conducted to evaluating the structure of the sheep chain for wool production in a rural property, to analyze how the chain is in the farm, and finally to describe which links in the production chain are involved. The research was developed from the method of documentary research for theoretical foundation, field visits at the property, and an interview with the owner of the rural company, through the application of a semi-structured questionnaire with open questions, where the interviewee can clearly and objectively express their experience of years in the activity. As a result, there were 3 essential links of the productive chain in the property in question, being they, the inputs, the production and industrialization and the commercialization, which were later detailed. Therefore, it is concluded that the productive chain needs new incentives for the activity to grow again in a more emphatic and organized way, seeking the integration between agents of the chain and government agents.

Shirley Grazieli da Silva Nascimento, Universidade Federal do Pampa

Professora Adjunta na Universidade Federal do Pampa. Professora colaboradora do Programa de pós graduação em Desenvolvimento Territorial e Sistemas Agroindustriais. Membro do Núcleo de Pesquisa e Extensão em Agroecologia e Políticas Públicas para Agricultura Familiar (NUPEAR/UFPel). Pós Doutora pelo Programa de Pós Graduação em Desenvolvimento Territorial e Sistemas Agroindustriais (2016). Doutora pelo Programa de Pós- Graduação em Sistemas de Produção Agrícola Familiar. Mestre em Agronomia também pelo Programa de Pós- Graduação em Sistema de Produção Agrícola Familiar, na linha de pesquisa de Desenvolvimento Rural Sustentável (2009). Especialista em Educação Ambiental pela Cesusc/SC (2008). Graduada em Tecnologia Ambiental – com Ênfase em Saneamento Ambiental pelo Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica de Pelotas (2005). Graduada no Programa Especial de Formação Pedagógica também pelo CEFET (2007). Possui experiência na área de Agroecologia, Agricultura Familiar, Educação Ambiental, atuando nas seguintes vertentes: segurança alimentar e nutricional, educação alimentar, políticas públicas, consumo social de alimentos e educação ambiental.

Daniel Hanke, Universidade Federal do Pampa

Professor Adjunto da Universidade Federal do Pampa. Possui graduação em Agronomia pela Universidade Federal do Paraná (2008), Mestrado em Ciência do Solo pela Universidade Federal do Paraná (2012) e Doutorado em Ciência do Solo pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Realizou Pós - Doutorado em Físico - Química do Solo - UFRGS. Atualmente coordena o Núcleo de Estudos e Pesquisa em Agroecologia e Manejo e Conservação do Solo. Possui experiência em biologia, física, química e mineralogia do solo, atuando também nas áreas de Agroecologia e Produção de Tecnologias Sociais para Agricultura Familiar.
