Intergerational Dialogues as a proposal for sustainability education

Abstract

The research aims to demonstrate the need to recognize the importance of the elderly and their insertion in the social environment. The object of study is the project “Intergenerational Knowledge Discussions” carried out at UNILEÃO university. This communication builds the idea that intergenerational dialogue should be adopted as a transversal communication axis in education for better coexistence, social development and human interaction. The chosen methodology is exploratory of qualitative bias, guided by bibliographic review and documentary analysis, especially with regard to the analysis of concepts through authors of the area and instruments that make up the Brazilian legal system. It is emphasized the need for educational institutions, at all levels (fundamental, middle, higher), to adopt an integrative posture of generations, especially with regard to the elderly population, for a dialogical contact, based on the Sustainability paradigm.
