About the Journal

Aims and Scope

The UFCA extension journal “EntreAções: dialogues in extension” is a semiannual publication from the Federal University of Cariri’s Dean of Extension, and it aims to promote interaction between the academy and society through publications of scientific articles, reports of extension, and specification in the most diverse areas of the knowledge from UFCA itself and another Higher Education Institutions inside and outside the national territory. This journal allows the society to follow and benefit directly and indirectly from technical-scientific production in an accessible way, promoting interaction between the University and other sectors of society, having a positive impact both on the student’s training and on economic, political, and social transformation.

Peer Review Process

The evaluation process for this journal follows the principles of peer review. Submitted manuscripts for publication in the scientific journal “EntreAções: dialogues in extension” are initially evaluated by the Selection Editor for their suitability for the journal's rules and the use of Plágius similarity detection system.

 To ensure the integrity of the double-blind peer review process, the name, or any information that could reveal the authors' identity is removed before the referees have been appointed. It’s recommended to authors, editors, and reviewers (who may be able to send documents to the system as part of the review process) be alert about some precautions with the text and document’s properties, such as removing the authors’ names and biographies before the text submission, and the information must be included in a supplementary file, in case of the text be approved for publication.

The evaluation and issuance of opinions are made by two ad hoc reviewers, external to the institution/affiliation of the first author’s submitted text. The evaluator must have an education level greater or equal than the texts’ authors. These opinions will be used by the editors to decide to accept the texts or not.

The evaluation system consists of a process where the expert reviewer when evaluating the work, makes comments, and suggestions for improvement. This stage involves continuous revaluations, joining efforts to improve the scientific papers. Usually, the Chief Editor in association with the Executive Editor adds editorial advice to the reviewers' suggestions, whose objective is to improve the paper, aiming for publication.

Periodicity

The “EntreAções: dialogues in extension” journal is published every six months and the papers might be submitted at any time. The publishing calls for regular editions and special editions might be made as well.

Free Access Policy

This journal offers immediate free access to its content, following the principle that making scientific knowledge freely to the public provides greater worldwide democratization of knowledge.

Processing fee:

The “EntreAções: dialogues in extension” journal doesn’t charge any processing fee, manuscripts submitted for evaluation, review, publication, distribution, or download.

The names and addresses provided for this journal will be used exclusively for the services provided by this publication and won’t be available for other purposes.

Authors who publish in this journal agree to the following terms:

 

a) Authors maintain copyright and allow the journal the rights to the first publication.

b) Authors are authorized to assume additional contracts separately, for the non-exclusive distribution of the paper’s version published in this journal (e.g.: publishing as a book chapter), with acknowledgment of authorship and initial publication in this journal.
