Dia “D” da Saúde
os impactos da educação popular em saúde no contexto do ensino médio caririense
Abstract
When it comes to physiopathological conditions that persist chronically in society, measures to minimize the complex facilitators of the health-disease process should be taken. In this regard, the extension project "Redefining Dietary Practices" conceived and implemented the extension initiative called Health Day, joining forces with the community and university extension in facing the hardship in question. The action took place at EEFM Dona Clotilde Saraiva in Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará, and aimed at raising awareness and screening cases and factors considered health risk indicators through activities that integrated the community's experiences with the academic knowledge of the extension students. To achieve this, there were several partnerships between students from the UFCA Medical School and FMJ, as well as other courses such as psychology, nursing, and dentistry, to provide a comprehensive and cross-cutting health initiative, including rooms for measuring blood pressure, lectures on self-image, massage therapy, oral hygiene, and discussion circles. Therefore, the activities contributed to both the academic community, providing an opportunity for practical experience, and the general population, aiding in disease prevention and the improvement of habits related to health maintenance.
