Abstract

This work is an experience report addressing the activities carried out by the extension project “TEEN - Working the emotional through teaching: adolescent mental health”. This report aims to evaluate the results obtained, the methodologies used, the relevance of the actions carried out, the impact of the project on the student community and the academic body, in addition to debating about the new challenges of extending in times of social isolation. The actions were carried out in two public high schools in the Cariri region. All activities took place remotely, through the Google Meet platform, and 3 virtual meetings were held by schools, each addressing a topic related to mental health. Health education interventions, during the context of the new Coronavirus pandemic, aimed at the community, are shown as fundamental elements to reiterate the principles of academic extension. The work highlights the importance of the actions carried out in helping the target audience's mental health, allowing mutual benefits for both project members and adolescents, emphasizing the importance for the personal, professional and human growth of the actors involved and elucidating the need to expand the actions proposed by the TEEN project to other municipalities.
