Citizenship and Business
thematic seminars as a contribution to the development of low-income communities
Abstract
This extension report presents the methodology to support the development of low-income populations, in peripheral regions and organized into productive groups from academic extension activities. The objective of the report is to present alternatives to the process of developing groups supported by non-governmental organizations, with techniques that are easy to apply and expand contact networks for future works. In this way, knowledge about agile planning techniques, microfinance, microcredit, and formalization of small companies called MEI - individual microenterprises, were made available in classes and didactic material produced by the team to the community of the Vergel do Lago neighborhood in the municipality of Maceió - Alagoas, whose vulnerability condition was the criterion of choice for the reported intervention. As for the results achieved, the manuals immediately met specific demands for their businesses, both in terms of planning, as well as financing conditions and regularization of their businesses. Regarding the future perspectives, it is expected that the actions will bring support to existing businesses and expand the scope of knowledge for the survival of the next businesses to be supported by Mandaver Institute.
